Ms. Sekimoto started her career as a paralegal in 2002 and joined Tafapolsky & Smith in 2007. At Tafapolsky & Smith, she utilizes her bilingual and bicultural skills to work with various corporations, including Japanese, U.S., and Indian corporations. She mainly handles H, TN, L, E, PERM, Adjustment of Status, and Consular Processing cases.

Prior to joining Tafapolsky & Smith, she worked at two immigration law firms in Minneapolis and Southern Minnesota. She gained experience in H-1B, I-140 (EB2/3), K, I-130, Adjustment of Status, Naturalization, TPS, VAWA, NACARA, and deportation cases. Before changing her career, she worked as an administrative assistant for eight years at several corporations, including a Global-500 corporation, in Tokyo, Japan.

Ms. Sekimoto holds a Bachelor of Art degree in Legal Studies from Metropolitan State University in St. Paul, Minnesota. As part of her undergraduate degree, she completed a special summer session at William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota. Also, she holds an associate degree in Japanese Language/Literature from Shukutoku Junior College in Tokyo, Japan.
