New Naturalization Exam to be Required Beginning October 1 September 4, 2008 The U.S. Citizenship and Naturalization Service has announced its schedule for implementing the new naturalization examination, which includes an overhauled English reading and writing section and a list of 100 new history and government questions. The redesigned examination has been undergoing pilot testing for the past year. Naturalization applicants will be required to take the new exam beginning October 1, 2008.
