Ms. Kuo has worked in the field of immigration law since 2005. Prior to joining Tafapolsky & Smith, Ms. Kuo provided F and J visa assistance to international students and scholars at the UC Berkeley International Student & Scholars Office.

Ms. Kuo received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Legal Studies and Chinese Studies from the University of California, Berkeley in 2006. She also received her Associates degree in Paralegal Studies and her Paralegal certification from the College of San Mateo. Fluent in both Mandarin and Taiwanese, Ms. Kuo will obtain her professional translation certificate in 2007 from University of Toronto in Mandarin-Chinese.

In her free time, Ms. Kuo volunteers at the San Francisco Pro Bono Legal Services as a translator and interpreter. She is also a senior mentor at the San Mateo Youth Foundation, providing academic and financial support for low-income high school students. Ms. Kuo has participated in various singing competitions in the Bay Area and recently received first-place in the Chinese Idol Singing Competition. Taking pride in her Taiwanese heritage, Ms. Kuo enjoys teaching the Taiwanese language DeCal courses at UC Berkeley.
